More fun than a barrel of monkeys! Also, if you're into the idea of a non-lethal form of home defense, it might be tough to beat the X Products Can Cannon. It uses blanks to launch any of a variety of large objects that'd be enough to deter even the most committed felon from doing you bodily harm - personally I think being hit square in the chest by a fast moving can of coke might induce a rapid flight response in any would-be do badder and spare you the homeowner the ugly aftermath of a fatal shooting in the home you love and share with your family. Also, from what I can gather, it can be shipped to your door and bypass an FFL altogether (pending ATF approval). X Products sell a conversion kit for your AR that does the same job but this is their first foray into a stand alone unit. They're taking preorders now. This from their WEBSITE:

The launcher that anyone can own. Based on the X Products Can Cannon, the fully operational break action, blank operated, modular launcher is 3D printed and machined to accommodate various applications and designs. The proprietary trigger both fires and opens the launcher. Simply push the trigger forward and the action opens ejects a spent casing and allows you to load fresh blank in the chamber. Once loaded, the action is closed, a projectile is loaded into the muzzle end and it's ready to fire. 

The universal design works with all Can Cannon components and accessory, it does not require a permit to own or operate and is legal in all 50 states.
