NEW FIREARMS & ACCESSORIES

We make every attempt to only preview new products when they are actually available on the market. This spares consumers from wasting time trying to locate an item to buy when it hasn't yet left the prototype phase. Please note that during SHOT Show (January of each year) manufacturers often announce new items that are several months from stores: we still announce these despite not being immediately available for purchase.

serbu gb-22 plans. $12

1/30/2022

Picture
Picture
Mark Serbu is one of those outside-the-box designers that only materialize from time-to-time. After receiving his BA in Mechanical Engineering, he launched Serbu Firearms as a Class-2 manufacturer in 1995 and has been innovating ever since. In the early 2000's he built his first Super Shorty Shotguns on the Mossberg and Remington 870 actions - they were greatly sought after and commissioned by the military, SWAT and LEO departments - the success of these was what undoubtedly inspired Mossberg and Remington to make their own iterations. Due to a three year backlog of orders the company now primarily focus on their three 50BMG designs (the RN-50 break action, the BFG-50A semi-auto and the BFG-50 single-shot) so I can only imagine the frustration for a compulsive inventor to be shackled to a CNC machine cranking out duplicates. Anyway, the GB-22 pictured above was whimsically released by Mark on Youtube amid the gun buyback scheme in 2016 and instantly went viral with over a million views. All-in-all over 1,000 copies of the plans have been bought by folks (with various degrees of metal-shop skills) from all over the world - though I doubt there'd be anything illegal in buying the plans, I'd encourage any purchaser to check local laws before actually assembling a homemade pistol - there are an increasing number of places where this will land you in the clink. That aside it's an incredibly clever, ultra simple, 4-part, single-shot firearm that can be gussied up according to your proclivities, available tools and metalwork proficiency. Check it out on their WEBSITE.

ria/Armscor vrf-14. 12-gauge. 14" barrel. $599

1/28/2022

Picture
Though it's been out a few months we're ashamed to say we missed this one at the time of it's release. On first inspection it seems to be everything we dreamed our shockwave would grow up to be, so, in that regard I suppose, the VRF-14 is Armscor's solution to evolution! Sporting semi-auto AR familiarity, flip-up sights, compatibility with the VR-Series 9 and 19-round mags, it still falls under an ATF designation of "firearm" just like those 14"-barreled shotguns made by Serbu (the original but no longer available), Mossberg and Remington. Honestly 20G is my preference when it comes to these shorty shotguns as the recoil of a handheld 12G can make it slow to get back on target for follow up shots. That aside it's a formidable piece and my sense is weapons of this type may soon be villainized by the anti-gun horde, so grab them while they're available. Check it out here at the Armscor WEBSITE.

bushnell RXU-200 ultra compact Reflex Sight.

1/28/2022

Picture
The new RXU-200 from Bushnell (perhaps the numerical designation stands for the $200 it'll set you back) will be available this Summer (2022) and answers shooter's calls for a tiny reflex sight that is proportioned size-wise to their ultra-compact EDC pistols. We look forward to running one through it's paces. The slightly larger RXC-200 to be released simultaneously and is scaled for compact pistols.

Battery life is inherently long with red dot sights but you forfeit the rapid visibility that is gained by a green dot. The green light  spectrum is more readily visible to the human eye (nothing to do with color blindness) but requires greater energy (approx 221kJ/mol)
to generate so manufacturers seeking bragging rights for a five-year long battery life tend to go with red dot (184kJ/mol). It's worth noting that green is about thirty times easier for us to see than red due to the greater number of green receptors in the retina - in speed drill this translates to 25% faster shots-on-target with green over red.  So if you want a truly visible sight and you're fine with half the battery life, then send Bushnell an email encouraging them to offer a green dot option in the new RXU/RXC-200's.

WEBSITE.

ria/armscor tm22-a-18. 18" barrel. 22lr. $299

1/27/2022

Picture
RIA/Armscor build quality firearms at half the price (or less) than their domestic counterparts, and the TM22 promises to maintain that pleasing duality. One of the factors that necessitates their lofty production standards is the fact that they host a competitive team - Team Armscor - who represent the company in competitions against the world’s top shooters. They got to where they are with many hours of practice and dedication, not to mention they compete exclusively with their company's firearms so their firearms have to be up to snuff. At first glance (we haven't fired one) the TM22 rifle above checks all the boxes for what American shooters look for in a rimfire AR-styled platform, and not least for the MSRP.  Though it may depart slightly from the familiar AR patterned controls, it offers ambidextrous simplicity of function, a 2lb trigger, aluminum mags (10rnd standard with 15rnd and 25rnd available aftermarket), rails, M-Lok and a threaded barrel for what'll probably end up being $250 on line. Now that's good value. This from the Armscor WEBSITE:

The Rock Island Armory TM22 is a new age rifle, built to the newest standard with the classical attributes needed to pass on for generations It is Total Metal with 7075 Airplane Grade aluminum from end to end. Compataiblity with AR type grip, commercial buffer tube adapter, top rail, and forend that takes most after market accessories, this rifle is built for all ages, all types of scenario. As ambi as it gets, comes stock with right handed controls but this rifle has it all, includes set to convert from right handed to left handed to make it ready for all scenarios. This 18" barrel 34" Overall length 221r rifle was built with no shortcuts, comes with 2 10rd aluminum magazines. Aftermarket factory 15rd and 25rd magazines available.

umarex ruger mkiv .177 pellet pistol. $54.99

1/26/2022

Picture
We're very excited about the release of this break-barrel Umarex air pistol as it's the first to accurately represent the Ruger MKIV and therefore provide MK-pistol shooters with a worthy basement practice gun. In this era of universal ammo shortages, even 22LR can be hard (and costly) to come by, but keeping your hand and eye coordination true with weekly practice is important. Umarex have been stellar at providing us with all the popular brands to help maintain proficiency no matter the firearm you keep in your nightstand. This is the Umarex WEBSITE. This from the Pyramid Air WEBSITE, where you'll find the best price:

The Ruger Mark IV Pellet Pistol combines the timeless style of the renowned series of handguns and the smooth shooting of a breakbarrel pellet gun into one appealing package. Capable of reaching velocities up to 360 FPS with .177 caliber pellets, it offers hours of enjoyment for plinking or target practice. This air pistol takes many of its design elements from the popular firearm version, so the look and feel are instantly familiar to anyone acquainted with it. The single-shot airgun has a consistent single-stage trigger that gives shooters repeatable precision, which is aided by the rifled barrel for additional accuracy when shooting pellets. The cocking mechanism operates in one stroke for added convenience, and the air pistol includes a manual/automatic thumb safety. The light weight and ease of cocking and pulling the trigger make this airgun ideal for use by beginning shooters or those looking for prolonged practice time without tiring their hands and arms. To help yield accurate shots, this air pistol uses a fixed fiber optic front sight and an adjustable fiber optic rear sight. In addition, the grip panels feature a smooth top portion with the Ruger logo and a checkered lower portion that helps to ensure a firm hold.

ria (armscor) al22b. 9 shot 22LR. $659

1/26/2022

Picture
The new AL22B from Rock Island Armory (Armscor's USA facility) is a handsome, blued, full-underlug, mid sized revolver reminiscent of vintage Colts and S&W's. RIA describes this as a target revolver so I'm guessing accuracy is good right out of the box. The single action trigger weighs in between 4-6lbs and DA is 11.5-13lbs: though these at first may seem on the stout side, they're fairly standard for rimfire revolvers due to the necessity of a good hard strike to ignite the primer. You'll often see lighter trigger weights on SA/DA centerfire revolvers, resultantly.  In this day and age of fast-and-cheap parkerizing, it's really nice to see a blued finish on a modern steel firearm and given that this a nine shot revolver puts it in the feasibility camp for self defense - don't ever let caliber snobs tell you 22LR is insufficient to take care of business, it's the number one round involved in firearm fatalities so is plenty capable for any home defense tasks required of it. Armscor have really stepped up their line of revolvers lately and as well as this AL22B (blued, 9-shot 22LR), other AL iterations are the AL22 (stainless, 9-shot 22LR), the AL22M (stainless, 8-shot 22MAG) and the AL22M (blued, 8-shot 22MAG).  This from the Armscor WEBSITE:

The RIA CAL. 22lr revolvers’ design is molded to fit the requirements of people who take their target shooting seriously. The combination of a 9 round capacity makes up a reliable arms system, ready for any training situation. Drop safety and all-steel design guarantees a high level of safety when carried under any condition. This revolver is an ideal choice for sport shooters and training for personal defense situations.

Patriot Ordnance Factory, Phoenix 9mm. $1699

1/25/2022

Picture
The brainchild of Frank DeSomma - who sadly passed away in 2020 before the design was complete - the Phoenix was debuted at this year's SHOT Show and understandably created quite a buzz. It hits all the marks requested and required by modern shooters and yet somehow reminisces the legendary Grease Gun of WWII, thereby grabbing multi-generational appeal. It's proprietary 35rnd banana magazine is a breath of fresh retro air and a nice departure from the usual dependency on Glock sticks. The muzzle brake can be removed to make way for a suppressor and a pic rail at the rear allows for your choice of brace. $1700 seems like a fair price too, though probably still out of reach for many of us working stiffs, we can nevertheless dream. This from the POF-USA WEBSITE.

The Phoenix 9MM was born from the ashes and designed from the ground up. The all new Phoenix 9mm subgun is the perfect plinking platform yet built for serious duty. It’s an ideal host for your suppressed shooting and features a 1913 picatinny rail at the rear, making future conversions or adding a brace a breeze.
The direct blowback system has been proven around the world, and POF-USA has adapted it with their own enhancements. The upper and lower receiver are built with aerospace grade aluminum. It is completely ambidextrous with familiar AR15 controls and is compatible with AR15 Mil-Spec triggers, grips, and selectors. The monolithic upper receiver is M-LOK compatible with an ambidextrous forward charging handle and integrated sling mounts. “We’re extremely pleased with the final result and couldn’t be happier to bring another one of Frank DeSomma’s visions to the market. He worked tirelessly on this design over the years, and the team couldn’t be more proud to finish it.” says Jeremy Selting, VP of sales & Marketing. The Phoenix was revealed at the 2022 SHOT Show at Patriot Ordnance Factory’s booth, #10371. It will be shipping in Q1 of 2022 and includes a proprietary 35 round magazine, magazine loader, muzzle brake, single point adjustable sling and hand stop.

Recover Tactical P-IX Modular AR Platform

1/25/2022

Picture
I sometimes think the best reason to own a Glock is for the accessories made by the ingenious Israeli team, Recover Tactical. We love this company, it's almost like they took their playbook from KelTec and are maximizing the possibilities of polymer, always innovating and thinking up new ways to make your sidearm more fun and more tactical. Plus they R&D the heck out of all new accessories so by the time they release them for sale, they just work. They're smart too for focusing all their energies on enhancements for pre-existing firearms rather than building their own guns: offshore weapons manufacturing is fraught with the pitfalls of import legalities and ATF regulations, not to mention the army of homespun Youtube reviewers ready to shred or adore you once you get here. I haven't had the pleasure of using the P-IX system but I'm assuming it'll be true to their pattern of out-of-the-box usability, and it sure looks cool! Plus it provides a familiar AR platform to accurize your Glock whereas other manufacturer's Glock-chassis systems might be less immediately intuitive. Another selling point of Recover Tactical accessories is their prices: the P-IX Modular AR Platform retails for $199-$275 which is extraordinarily inexpensive for an accessory of this conceptualization, format and quality. They are available for presale right now and ship in March - visit their WEBSITE here to order.

keltec p15 9MM. 15+1 rounds. 0.875". msrp:$425

1/24/2022

Picture
For everyone who snubs their nose at Keltec, there's a thousand of us who, well, just get it. George Kellgren is a legend among designers and one of the few who thinks resolutely outside the box. Since the 90's he's shunned the conservative balls and chains of firearm manufacturing and led the charge in lightweight, polymer framed pistols priced for the working man and woman. And we appreciate him. People love his guns or hate them, but the scarce availability of all his firearms is testament to the fact that most are of the former proclivity. Go try and find a Sub2000, or a P32, or a PMR30, or a PLR16! Well, truth be told any firearm is hard to find right now but KelTecs were a challenge to track down long before the current gunrush. When other manufacturers were still selling pistols heavy enough to pull your pants down, Kellgren was supplying the working stiff with featherweight personal protection and his guns were always sold out due to their popularity and price point. But it wasn't long before other makers saw the logic behind KelTec and followed in their footsteps - you might even say copied, but I'd never be so accusatory - and a whole plethora of polymer compacts flooded the market. Now it rather seems the tides have reversed and Kellgren is following the herd with the P15, but his assemblage of features, as always, beats all his competitors! At 14oz and 0.875" thin the P15 must be lightest of the light and the slimmest of the slim double-stack mid-sized 9MM pistols. Kellgren has done it again. Check it out on their WEBSITE.

marlin 1895 new and improved by ruger. $1399

1/24/2022

Picture
Truly we've seen the end of an era where a new Marlin 1895 sells for $700. On Gunbroker this morning I watched a NIB Marlin Dark 30-30 pass the $2500 mark in bidding! The regular working man (and woman) are being priced out of the guns we could once, just afford. As I wipe the tears from my eyes, let's take a quick look at the first Marlin levergun to leave the press under Ruger's ownership. (Note that this is the ONLY lever gun currently in production under the Ruger marque, others will likely follow.) It's a 19" barreled, polished stainless, full railed, ghost ringed, laminated stocked 45-70 with a threaded barrel. And it's a very handsome, shiny firearm. Personally I like blued steel with a straight walnut stock so I hope Ruger does not drop that classic "guide gun" iteration from the lineup. And of course we need the full line of 336's including the 336Y. And all the 1894's (including the Dark), please! New serial numbers will begin with "RM" therefore easily distinguishing it (in case the price didn't alert you) from previous manufacturers. The new place of manufacture will be marked "Mayodan, NC" on the barrel. It certainly looks like the new levers will have all the hallmarks of Ruger's engineering, fit and finish, which is good. The Marlin WEBSITE explains all this and lists this roundup of features:

  • Receiver, lever and trigger guard plate are CNC machined from 416 stainless steel forgings.
  • Barrel is made of 410 stainless steel and is cold hammer-forged which results in ultra-precise rifling that provides exceptional accuracy and longevity.
  • Threaded barrel, with factory-installed thread protector, has a 11/16" x 24 pattern to accommodate a muzzle brake or other barrel accessories.
  • Updated Picatinny rail provides a stable mounting surface for scope rings and a variety of modern optics.
  • Ghost ring rear sight is adjustable for windage/elevation and tritium fiber optic, high visibility day/night front sight allows for quicker target acquisition in low light.
  • Six-round, tubular magazine with a loading gate located on the receiver.
  • Soft-rubber buttpad effectively absorbs recoil.
  • Positive, push-button, cross bolt manual safety and traditional half-cock hammer.
  • Reliably feeds a wide range of .45-70 Govt factory ammunition and bullet types.
  • Durable, laminate buttstock and forend remain dimensionally stable in varying weather conditions.
  • Sharp checkering provides an excellent grip in all weather conditions.
  • Spiral-fluted, nickel-plated bolt aids smooth cycling.
  • Oversized lever loop provides clearance for operation with heavy gloves.
  • Slimmed-down forend for an attractive look and comfortable feel.
  • Also includes: Sling swivel studs, offset hammer spur.
UPDATE: According to Ruger/Marlin closed door conversations, the Model 60 will continue, as will the 1894 in 357MAG and 44MAG. Allegedly the 1895 in 444Marlin will return, and all centerfire parts will be forged as opposed to cast. Finally, there will be no more micro groove barrels on centerfire rifles: instead Ruger will utilize it's cold hammer-forged process which will assure superior accuracy.

CAA agada rifle: a more natural stance? $899

1/23/2022

Picture
I'm always interested in innovative transgressions from the institutionalized norms, whether it's in engineering, science, music, the arts or simply a new way of thinking: the Agada rifle is potentially one of these branches off the mainstream trunk of established mores and could just alter the way we hold our longarms. Or it could go the way of other good ideas of the past, vanishing into the oblivion created by the public's resistance to, and disinterest in change. Either way CAA needs to make the concept inherently usable and appealing to the eye. The above pictured rifle immediately strikes me as large and uncomfortable with all it's sharp, angular edges so I'm assuming as the weapon evolves it'll look more attractive (and less hazardous) to grab up quickly and use effectively - as is obviously intended - by putting the shooter into a natural fighting (boxing) stance. Any unorthodox architecture needs to win hearts by promising increased comfort. Honestly I think they're onto something, and I think it'll go through a few incarnations until they get it perfect, but thankfully CAA have the R&D money to take this solidly to market. Price point will need to be attractive to entice early adopters. This from their WEBSITE:

Introducing the AGADA, the first truly revolutionary, innovative and ultimately ergonomic rifle, designed by LTC (Ret.) Mikey Hartman, CEO of CAA USA.AGADA (pronounced Ah-Ga-Dah) means “Legend” in Hebrew, and its unique design is a first to radically alter the traditional standards of how a rifle is constructed and instead, facilitates a natural and ergonomic hold that will increase accuracy and consistency for any shooter at any level.

DESIGNED & MADE IN AMERICA
Designed and manufactured in Pompano Beach, Florida by CAA USA, the AGADA is born from Hartman’s 22-years of experience serving in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and training over a half a million soldiers. The AGADA is the first weapon system built around the ergonomics of the human body, while in the past, the shooter’s body needed to contort in order to grip the “broomstick” (straight line from stock to muzzle) design of the rifle, i.e., there is no need to “break” your wrist in order to grip the rifle.

VARIANTS
Using existing GLOCK 9mm magazines, as well as CAA USA proprietary magazines, the AGADA will come in three basic configurations:
· 16-inch rifle
· 10-inch NFA SBR
· 10-inch Carbine with faux suppressor pinned and welded to an OAL of 16-inches
The AGADA utilizes a gas blow-back operation and will be available for right or left-hand users.
What makes the AGADA truly different you ask?

STOCK
The AGADA stock rests both on and against the shooter’s shoulder. Provides optimal balance, head and body position when firing.
· The AGADA stock will fold to the opposite side and still be capable of firing when folded.
· No more head tilt! Increased surface area on cheekpiece provides more optimal head positioning.
· Cheekpiece is adjustable up-down, forward-back. CAA675

LOWER RECEIVER/PISTOL GRIP
The AGADA magwell is uniquely designed with an oversized opening, allowing for easier and faster mag insertion without taking your eyes off the target while reloading.
· Pistol grip is integrated and curls forward and off to the side of the lower, putting the shooter in a more “boxer” like position, as well as a more natural continuation of the arm.
· There will be two safeties in the AGADA:
· In the top of the thumb groove located in the pistol grip.
· Ambidextrous safety lever in the lower.
· A “last round bolt hold open” with release lever, rarely seen on blowback action firearms, will be incorporated into the AGADA.

TRIGGER

·AGADA‘s fire control group has been altered from a traditional rearward pull to a downward pull, exploiting the natural flow of the arm in the “boxing” position.
·Extremely light 2.5 lbs. trigger pull with glass-like breaking point.

FORWARD GRIP
· Off set and angled forward, the ergonomic forward grip quickly adjusts to any shooter and without detaching from the rail, can be moved forward and back.
· The forward grip module also features an integrated flashlight mount for even more versatility.

heritage mfg black tactical cowboy. $213

Okay, so I get the idea and their good intentions, but an ill-fitting screwed-on picatinny rail doesn't make it tactical. Also, threading a barrel on a revolver is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle, but I suppose all-in-all it's the thought that counts. And Heritage small bore revolvers are so inexpensive that it's okay to suspend one's belief in genuine practicality for a moment while handing over your credit card.

So, how would I improve it? 1) Cast a dedicated frame with integrated rail, 2) add a smaller rail (for laser or flashlight) on the underside of the barrel between the threaded section and extractor-rod housing, and 3) make the 1/2 x 28 threading mean something for the addition of a silencer. There hasn't been a revolver since the Nagant M1895 that could be effectively suppressed as it required the use of a proprietary cartridge, however the mechanism of canting the cylinder forward to seal the gap between forcing cone and cylinder would go a long way toward making revolver-suppression viable. In the end though, the cost of manufacturing such a precision instrument would be prohibitive and I doubt Heritage will bother considering their target price point. Meantime, this could be a fun addition to your backyard plinking stable. Check them out at the Heritage Mfg WEBSITE.

ruger wrangler birdshead. msrp:$279

I'm seeing these in stores for $249 which is a steal for such a nice little revolver. Birdshead revolvers have always been my favorite configurations and I really like the range of Cerakote color combo's Ruger have chosen for this diminutive shooter. Personally I'm hoping they'll flute the cylinder and give it nine chamberings to make it truly useful as a ranch-camping-hiking sidearm; considering the limitations of 22LR as a one-shot stopper, three extra rounds would up the likelihood of folks willing to trust their lives with it. That aside, inexpensive single action rimfire revolvers are more fun than a barrel of monkeys (witness the supreme success of Heritage Mfg), and you can afford to be less precious with it when it only sets you back two Benjamins. Legal in California but not in Massachusetts or Minnesota (really?!?! Good news is you can still buy BB guns in MA and MN). Check out the variations on the Ruger WEBSITE.

kimber r7 mako 9mm. msrp: $599-$799

Picture
Kimber's first foray into polymer is the new MAKO: a striker-fired, mid-sized 9MM that comes optics-ready, sports a 12/14 round capacity, has a target crowned barrel/target trigger, ambi controls and comes with an optional CTS-1500 reflex sight ($799). This from the Kimber WEBSITE:

The New R7 MAKO. Unlike Anything You've Seen From Kimber. Or Anyone Else.
  • High-capacity, 12-round micro-compact
  • 14 rounds with included extended magazine
  • Crimson Trace CTS-1500 Reflex Sight (on optics-installed model)
  • Mount any sight that fits the Shield pattern RMSc footprint on either the optics-ready or optics-installed model
  • Co-witnessed tritium night sights with Glock-cut dovetail
  • Performance Carry Trigger

The optics-installed R7 Mako has everything you could ask for in a critical situation:
  • CTS-1500 reflex sight for fast target acquisition and accurate shot placement
  • Co-witnessed tritium night sights, Glock-cut for aftermarket options
  • Optimized sight radius for enhanced accuracy
  • Hooded ejection port to vent gasses and brass away from optic

You told us you wanted more available rounds to send downrange, and more magazines. We heard you. The R7 Mako ships with a high-capacity, flush-fit standard magazine and a higher-capacity extended magazine. When rounds matter, they really matter. And the R7 Mako delivers.

We’ve fired them all. And there’s no trigger on any competitive micro-compact, striker-fired gun that even comes close to what you’ll experience with the R7 Mako. Even with a pull weight of 5.0 – 6.75 pounds, the R7 Mako’s trigger delivers the kind of smooth, consistent, short pull and clean, crisp break you’d expect from a single-action handgun.

There’s nothing quite like Kimber’s new, uncompromising R7 Mako. Attention to detail, fit, and finish once reserved for the industry’s finest 1911s is now available in a 9mm subcompact, polymer striker fire. The R7 Mako is what every concealed carry handgun should be.

taurus defender 605 357mag. msrp $472-$540

Picture
Taurus' new Defender is a small-framed, all stainless 3" barreled 5-shot 357MAG/38SPL+P. It's 3" barrel allows for an extended ejector rod meaning faster reloading. It comes in a variety of finishes (Cerakote, Black Oxide, Two-Tone and Stainless) and grip styles. It's built to their new TZT (Taurus Zero Tolerance) standard - likely a result of issues with breakages and reliability over the past years. Kudos to Taurus for facing this previous shortcoming head-on and addressing it bluntly: this will stand them in good stead and I predict this new revolver will clock unprecedented sales for them, especially considering it's rugged good looks and first rate caliber. all-new cartridge: federal 30 super carry

The new 30 Super Carry (I assume this will be abbreviated to 30SC) allows for MORE capacity, has MORE power and provides MORE penetration but it'll certainly also cost MORE until demand facilitates adjusted pricing. Nevertheless, it's very possible - with the right marketing and endorsements - that this new round could compete with 9MM or even supersede as the go-to cartridge for American shooters. 9MM (currently manufactured in 70 countries) was originally of German design (1901) then designated for NATO use (1962), whereas 30SC is wholly American. This from the Federal WEBSITE:

Introducing 30 Super Carry — the most revolutionary self-defense advancement in nearly 100 years. The .312-inch-diameter projectile used in 30 Super Carry allows more magazine capacity than 9mm Luger, yet delivers equal muzzle energy and performance. The dimensions allow chambering in handguns with reduced grip circumference and smaller overall size for easier concealment. More than just an all-new cartridge, the compact design represents an entirely new class of ammunition engineered for absolute performance by every measure. The 30 Super Carry's slimmed-down dimensions result in a simple physical truth. A magazine the size of your standard 9mm Luger pistol's will carry additional rounds — two more in initially available handgun models. You get the proven power of a 9mm Luger with added capacity that can make all the difference in a real-world self-defense scenario. Federal’s new high-performance 30 Super Carry handgun cartridge delivers 9mm Luger terminal performance using a smaller case to provide big benefits for concealed carry. The best defensive cartridge will only perform to its full potential for the user through diligent training with ballistically comparable practice ammunition. American Eagle 30 Super Carry fills this role, providing an extremely similar feel and point of impact as its HST counterpart. A great cartridge demands a firearm that's just as good. That's why we worked hand-in-hand with Nighthawk Custom and Smith & Wesson while engineering 30 Super Carry to help these trusted manufacturers develop handguns that will extract all the cartridge offers. Initially available models include the Nighthawk Custom President and GRP and the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus and Shield EZ.
