Arguably the most exquisite revolver ever made, the Colt "Peacemaker" in original configuration with a 7.5" barrel has been resurrected. Though Colt has cancelled production twice over the past century and a half, it's been brought back by popular demand due to it's collectability, movie persona and thanks to it's fans in the reenactment business. Every detail down to the pony and eagle grips has been faithfully replicated here, with deep blued barrel and cylinder offsetting a caramel color case hardened frame: buyers are really getting a sublime and faithful piece of firearm history first designed in 1872 and going into service with the US Army in 1873. Of all the current iterations of JMB's famous last design, the Girsan is possibly the most authentic reproduction. Though some feel the original was flawed, it's unlikely those people - and fans of modern polymer pistols - will gravitate toward a Hi Power anyway, so authenticity (flaws in tact) will perhaps be the most desirable feature for aficionados and collectors looking to own this significant piece of firearm history.  Add to the equation the fact that it's a whole lot less expensive than other manufacturer's offerings and I suspect Girsan will sell a bunch of these.
